Having trained at Cape Town’s acclaimed Institute of Culinary Arts, Executive Chef Wilhelm Maree has a unique sense of artistic design and is bold and unpredictable with every dish he creates. His ambition and hard work has moulded his career for over 10 years in the industry where he started as a trainee chef at De Volkskombuis where he spent seven years working his way up to assistant General Manager. After De Volkskombuis, Wilhelm’s love for the beauty of the African bushveld and wildlife took him to the north of the country where he spent almost six years in some of South Africa’s top private game lodges.
Now, after returning to his roots in winelands, he finds himself back at his home town for just over a year and is ready for the next challenge. Here he joins the Val de Vie Team where he promises to bring something different to every meal you enjoy at the Polo Club Restaurant.
