The inaugural potjiekos competition, an initiative by our home owners and the Val de Vie Estate social committee, took place on Saturday 19 May at the Pearl Valley Boma.




Val de Vie Estate residents – Ryk Neethling (Val de Vie Estate Marketing Director and Shareholder), Eugene Eloff and Gerard van Staden (The Valley restaurant chef) – judged the contestants on taste, inventiveness and presentation. Team Midas Earthcoat walked away as the winning team with their spicy Mexican potjie, with the Misfits in second place and Brick Art in third place. Team Easigrass were awarded for their ‘gees’.




Live entertainment, Diesel and Dust craft beer and a display by Easigrass of wildlife animal figurines covered in artificial grass, added to the convivial atmosphere of the event.

Winners walked away with a selection of food and wine inspired prizes.
