Ryk Neethling visits the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture

The pioneering partnership between Val de Vie Estate and Jaeger-LeCoultre is a synergistic collaboration between two brands synonymous with luxury and a life well lived. Jaeger-LeCoultre is the official time keeping partner of the polo games played on the pristine polo fields at Val de Vie Estate.

Ryk Neethling is Marketing Director and Shareholder at Val de Vie Estate and a friend of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand. In September 2017, Ryk had the privilege of visiting the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture in Vallee de Joux, Switzerland.

During his time with Jaeger Le-Coultre, Ryk discovered a few of the 180 skills involved in developing and producing the most prestigious timepieces. “What particularly impressed me during my visit was the passion, the precision, the values and the work ethic that permeate the corridors. I was absolutely stunned by the workmanship – I tried my hand at some techniques, which made me realise what it actually takes to produce such finely-crafted pieces,” said Ryk.

Since its creation, Jaeger Le-Coultre has been delighting and surprising devotees of beautiful objects. In keeping with the inventive spirit initiated in 1833 by its founder Antoine LeCoultre, the artisans of the Manufacture combine their talents and expertise to create collections which have been at the forefront of watchmaking both technically and artistically.
